Did you know pet therapy has been shown to reduce physical and emotional pain? Just imagine a patient who rarely smiles is grinning ear-to-ear because YOUR dog visits once a week.
St. Croix Hospice is in need of caring people and their certified pet therapy dogs to visit with terminally-ill patients. We are looking for pet therapy teams all across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.
Certified Pet Therapy Teams are matched up with a hospice patient in their area and make visits at least once a week. We accept only dogs who have been certified by Therapy Dogs International, Therapy Dogs Incorporated, Pet Partners or other similar organizations.
Storytelling and scenario training is provided; visiting schedules are flexible.
Not certified for pet therapy? No problem, St. Croix Hospice would like to help you connect to people in the community who will help get you started and mentor you along the way.

Description
Originally founded in Minnesota, St. Croix Hospice is named after the St. Croix River. Symbols of change, rivers are restless, sometimes moving swiftly and other times peaceful and nearly still. Like life, rivers are not always easy to navigate, and it’s good to have a guide to help you through the difficult parts. We are here to guide your end-of-life journey with care and compassion.
Our clinical staff are professional, compassionate and award-winning. Our care team includes healthcare experts who believe in the power of hospice care to increase quality of life for all people approaching their final days.
