This position would report directly to the Communications Manager at New Horizons.
Internship requires consistency, and the ability to multi-task is essential. Expected hours are a minimum of 8 hours per week; however, as special scheduled events (yet to be named) get closer internship hours may need to expand.
Duties
- Office support such as mailings, filing, etc.
- Assist Communications Manager in promoting events
- Assist Communications Manager in putting on events
- Provide research for items related to the Development Department along with other departments at New Horizons
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong social media knowledge base
- Experience with all Microsoft Office applications
- Advertising/marketing experience or strong desire to learn; creative experience (preferred)
- Quality verbal communication (small and large group settings; telephone) and written communication (web, email, letters)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to set and meet deadlines, prioritize and manage several projects at one time
- Ability and desire to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be flexible
- Balance of a professional attitude while having fun
