Communication/ Marketing Intern

This position would report directly to the Communications Manager at New Horizons.

Internship requires consistency, and the ability to multi-task is essential. Expected hours are a minimum of 8 hours per week; however, as special scheduled events (yet to be named) get closer internship hours may need to expand.

Duties

• Office support such as mailings, filing, etc.
• Assist Communications Manager in promoting events
• Assist Communications Manager in putting on events
• Provide research for items related to the Development Department along with other departments at New Horizons
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong social media knowledge base
• Experience with all Microsoft Office applications
• Advertising/marketing experience or strong desire to learn; creative experience (preferred)
• Quality verbal communication (small and large group settings; telephone) and written communication (web, email, letters)
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to set and meet deadlines, prioritize and manage several projects at one time
• Ability and desire to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be flexible
• Balance of a professional attitude while having fun
