ORGANIZATION: Invisible Children

Invisible Children's unique and competitive Internship Program is ideal for those interested in pursuing careers in film, media, nonprofit management, and/or international development work. As an intern, you will work alongside Invisible Children staff to gain professional experience in a fast-paced, innovative work environment. Through your daily work and special projects, you will have a direct impact on our mission while being exposed to all the functional areas of the organization. No coffee runs or dry-cleaning - unless it’s for yourself. Spending spring in San Diego with your new best friends isn’t all that bad either.

Our Internship Program offers positions in the following areas:

Communications
At Invisible Children we believe that media can and should be harnessed for good, and that’s what we aim to do. This dynamic internship will give you the opportunity to collaborate with IC staff and other interns as well as generate daily content and develop strategy for our multiple social media platforms.

International Programs
The International Programs Intern will assist in supporting the maintenance and growth of Invisible Children’s programs throughout central and East Africa. They will work very closely with our International Programs Staff. This intern will support these teams through researching both current and new initiatives, translating documents, and assisting in communication across the various offices. *Fluency in French and English is required.

People Operations

The People Operations Intern will work directly with the Operations Team, who are 100% dedicated to making Invisible Children one of the best places to work. As a People Operations Intern, you will assist with internal HR operations, as well as recruiting, interviewing, and hiring for the next class of interns. As the gatekeeper for all incoming communication, this intern will also have a unique view of the internal operations at IC.

Supporter Engagement
The Engagement Team is the voice of Invisible Children to all of our beloved donors. This team (also known as FUNgagement) is contagiously dynamic. This position is crucial to the fundraising efforts of Invisible Children and provides a great opportunity to develop transferable professional skills.

Operations

Invisible Children’s Operations team is fueled by a small but mighty team, and they’re always looking for ways to improve the efficiency of our company. As the Operations Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to see the inner workings of our Operations team as well as contribute to maximizing everything we do. Problem solving and refinement are the name of the game.

Graphic Design

Invisible Children’s Creative Team is made up of artists who have witnessed the power of their craft. Fueled by work that saves lives and creates change, our designers devote their creativity to communicating the urgency behind our work. If you have ever seen one of our designs (we're talking t-shirts, campaigns, defection fliers), chances are, it was created by an intern. Now that can be you.

Videography//Editing

Stepping into IC’s Creative Team is like stepping into a boot camp designed specifically for creatives (only with less pushups and fewer ropes courses). Invisible Children believes in the power of media to inspire action, and with the help of videos curated by our film team, we are able to inform and activate millions of viewers to pursue global justice. Our interns have and continue to work on some of the biggest videos we produce.

Production Assistant

Invisible Children’s Art and Film department, A.K.A. the Dream Factory, is a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As the Production Assistant you provide invaluable support to the entire team which keeps the Dream Factory running efficiently and pumping out quality work. Every film/video/campaign that leaves this office (hello, KONY 2012 ) would not be possible without our Production Assistant. If you are interested in stepping into the film world to figure out what you're good at, while working alongside some of the most creative minds in the nonprofit community, this position is for you.

Internship details:

The dates of these internships are January 13th through May 22nd. All interns will be expected to work 40
