Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in partnership with Florida Lions Eye Bank and University of Miami Tissue Bank, will be holding a RUN 4-LIFE event to benefit organ, eye and tissue donation education efforts.
This event will take place on Sunday, October 26, 7:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at Charnow Park located at 300 Connecticut Street, Hollywood, Florida 33019.
The 5K Run/Walk event is 3.1 miles and runs around Hollywood Beach strip starting and ending at Charnow park. Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency ( LAORA), a Division of the Daughtry Family department of Surgery at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, is one of the nation’s 58 federally designated organ recovery agencies certified and regulated by the United Network for Organ Sharing ( UNOS). Life Alliance is a tax-exempt, nonprofit service organization that has the unique role of saving lives through organ donation and transplantation, as well as providing organs and tissues for research to advance medical science. LAORA serves a population of more than 6 million in the six counties of South Florida, and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
