The main purpose of the Family Support Specialist is to conduct needs assessments with clients, provide employment case management, and plan and implement workshops related to employment to help clients attain and maintain employment. Responsibilities include:

  • Interviewing clients to assess their needs
  • Assisting clients with resume writing
  • Assisting clients with job searches and connecting them with potential employers
  • Coaching clients for job interviews
  • Planning, implementing, and facilitating workshops on employment and disaster preparedness
  • Coordinating with other agencies to ensure that clients’ holistic needs are addressed

Description

Members are placed with partner agencies to do one or more of the following activities:

  • Provide employment coaching and placement, volunteer recruitment and management, interpretation services, and disaster preparedness
  • Provide ESOL, citizenship education, social services, case management, and related services to immigrant and refugees.
