Description
Do you want to make friends, build your professional network and give back to the community in an atmosphere of fellowship and fun? If so, then the Kiwanis Club of Washington, D.C. wants YOU!
The Kiwanis Club of Washington, D.C. is a service organization that offers members the opportu-nity to perform hands-on community service to make a positive change in the D.C. community.
Our three primary areas of focus are Youth Leadership, Youth Health and Youth Smiles. With a full calendar of activities, members are able to give back to their community throughout the year.
Kiwanians are engaged and committed professionals who care about contributing to the future of the youth of Washington. They appreciate the Club as a resource for enabling them to do good, diversify their knowledge and gain a better understanding of issues affecting today’s youth. It is also a great way to network and socialize with a group of like-minded peers.
Along with our service projects, the Club meets on a regular basis at the University Club on 16th Street, NW. The first Thursday of the month is a lunch meeting at noon; the third Thursday of the month is an evening meeting from 6-7 p.m.
In addition to socializing with fellow members, the meeting typically includes a speaker addressing issues related to the work of the Club.
The Kiwanis Club of Washington, D.C. was founded in 1917. It is one of over 7,500 clubs in Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers who organize about 150,000 service projects each year to help people, especially children, in need.
Our diverse, inter-generational membership enjoys volunteering at a variety of service projects in the D.C. community. We welcome you to join us at an upcoming event to learn more !
