ORGANIZATION: Arrowhead United Way

Do you enjoy working with students and want to make a difference in the life of a young individual? Are you interested in becoming a volunteer?

If so, please apply to become a volunteer mentor for the Knowledge Revealed Mentoring Program.

Knowledge Revealed is a college and career readiness mentoring program that motivates students to pursue higher education. Through mentorship, students learn about various colleges, careers, financial aid, and opportunities available to them.

We are currently seeking mentors to inspire and empower the youth of the San Bernardino area. We are looking for diverse and engaged individuals who have a passion for social change and are interested in working with students of low income communities.

As a mentor, you can play a huge role in the life of a young student. Mentoring is a powerful tool that can enable the mentee to achieve or exceed their life goals and aspirations. Mentors provide the following

services to their mentee:

¨ Guidance and advice

¨ Effective listening

¨ Encouragement

¨ Inspiration to succeed

¨ Discussion of goal setting

¨ Multitude of resources

¨ Support system

¨ Interest in the mentees questions and concerns

Time Commitment: The mentor and mentee meet for an hour for once every two weeks (biweekly). In order to ensure an effective relationship between the mentor and mentee, we require a minimum of a six month time commitment.

Location: Through a partnership with C.A.P.S., the mentoring sessions will take place at the following schools in San Bernardino: Holcomb Elementary, Mt Vernon Elementary, Shandin Hills Middle School, and a few others.

If becoming a volunteer mentor is something that you are interested in, and you want to make a difference in the life of a young student then please join the Knowledge Revealed Mentoring Program.
