Freedom Collaborative (freedomcollaborative.org ) is an online platform designed to bring connectivity to the anti-human trafficking sector. One of the tools on the site is Freedom Dialogues, our podcast-like series of short video conversations between experts on counter-trafficking. The Dialogues are mediated and recorded by a member of our staff and then edited down to be 5-7 minutes before being uploaded to the platform.

We are seeking a video editor to take on that portion of this project, on a video-by-video basis. Our team will review the full recording and note desired edits. These notes, along with the necessary title slides, will be provided to the editor along with the recording. Once the editor receives the video, he or she will have 1 week to implement the edits and return them to our team. We will then review for any final edits needed, which the editor will have 1 week to turn around.

This position has the possibility of being remote -- most of our team is in northern California but you don't have to be! And while this is an unpaid, volunteer position, we will include the editor's byline with the posting of the video on the platform.

You can learn more about the project and see our current videos by visitinghttp://static.freedomcollaborative.org/dialogues.html. To apply, email availability, resume and a sample of your work to amanda@freedomcollaborative.org . On your resume, please include your editing skills and the software you use.

About GlobalGiving

Location:

1 Thomas Circle, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20005, US

Mission Statement

Build an efficient, open, thriving marketplace that connects people who have community and world-changing ideas with people who can support them.

Description

GlobalGiving was founded by two former World Bank executives who decided to use the Internet to create a highly efficient marketplace. The GlobalGiving platform enables more funding to reach projects throughout the globe, and, at the same time, provides a more transparent, engaging way for donors to give.
Because we enable donors to give directly to projects, they know exactly where their money is going. Donors can see progress updates on most projects as funding is received and goals are met.

Donations made through GlobalGiving are higher impact because:

  • Money is going directly to a well-defined project versus supporting general operating expenses
  • Projects on globalgiving.com have exposure to thousands of donors, enabling us to aggregate multiple sources of funding for each project
  • Many projects on globalgiving.com are located in the developing world where a little money goes a long way
