America is a great nation of immigrants. Immigrants are people who come to a new land to make their home. Can you imagine being a child whose parents fled their homeland to save you and their lives, and having the burden of feeling secluded because you don’t speak the native language? This is a constant reality for these children and refugees around the world, some who are living right here in the Tampa Bay area.

You can help make a difference in these children’s lives who speak other languages by teaching them the English language. The Families Learning Together program is located at High Point branch of YMCA. ESOL teaching is held every Monday and Thursday evening from 6pm-8pm. Experience working with children is required.
