Purpose:
This volunteer will establish a product management process that will imagine, test, iterate, and make recommendations for improvement for all "tools" the info management and situational awareness team provides to the field.
Key Responsibilities:
This volunteer will be a special consultant who helps the Red Cross to imagine a product management process. He will work with the Humanitarian Services Support System team, the Disaster Assessment program design team, the Mobile Data Collection team, and the Service Delivery App team to codify how we get from an idea for a product that will improve our service delivery to realizing the implementation of using that product.
Qualifications:
- Product management skills
- Ability to work well in teams
- Ability to understand the Disaster Cycle Services business process model
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Experience in consulting
- Ability to define milestones and deliverables and work to reach them
Time Commitment:
We expect this volunteer to commit to 6 months. This volunteer can work remotely and will ideally have up to 10 hours/week to devote to these projects.

Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
