We are in the process of starting up a local chapter in the Charleston, South Carolina area of The Dream Factory.

The Dream Factory is a national volunteer-based wish-granting organization for critically and chronically ill children ages 3 through 18 years.

Each chapter operates without a paid staff. They use volunteers who raise funds in their communities to grant dreams to local children.

Nationally, The Dream Factory has granted more than 25,000 dreams in its 34-year history. It is the second largest wish granting foundation in the United States.

Examples of dreams granted to children include trips to Disney World, puppies and ponies, visits to favorite celebrities and sports stars and shopping sprees!

Right now we are in the process of setting up the local Board of Directors for The Dream Factory in Charleston. We need a treasurer, a secretary, an event planner chair, a fundraising chair, etc. The only "commitment" is to attend a monthly board meeting that we promise to be short and held at a time that is convenient for the majority of volunteers.

Once established we will need many, many volunteers in the Charleston area to visit children and their families in hospitals and in their homes, procure and deliver dream items, schedule dream trips, arrange special celebrations and conduct fundraising events for the local Charleston chapter!

We would appreciate it very much if you would please consider volunteering your time and talents to such a worthwhile cause. These very sick children and teenagers struggle on a daily basis and they need some much deserved "joy" added to their lives.

We can guarantee that getting involved with the new local Charleston chapter of The Dream Factory will add so much happiness to many sick kids lives - and it will also add happiness to your own life - a win-win for everyone.
