Want to get hands-on experience with nonprofit operations in an organization that serves seniors? Imagine working to make a difference in the lives of people who are unable to get out and to cook meals by ensuring they receive healthy, nutritious food and a friendly visitor. Meals On Wheels of San Francisco is seeking exceptional candidates to serve as Home Delivered Meals & Groceries Operations Intern in the Volunteer department this Spring/Summer 2015. Office volunteers have an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the breadth of non-profit work, and learn from an outstanding and experienced team. This is a great opportunity to work with a well-respected and highly-developed agency and develop skills in the field of nonprofit operations management. We are seeking volunteers that will help us meet the growing needs of our homebound senior clients.

JOB SCHEDULE:

• Spring/Summer 2015(or longer if mutually-agreed upon)
• Must be able to work 15-20 hours (flexible between 8:30a-4:30p, M-F ) in our Bayview neighborhood office.

JOB OVERVIEW: Help support the operations of the Home Delivered Meals & Groceries programs utilize volunteers more efficiently to expand and improve service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Clean driver's record Must pass a criminal background check
• The ability to lift 50 lbs
• High School Diploma and enrollment in a college program with a professor supervising the intern experience
• Excellent computer and database skills
• Reliable six-month commitment to the position
• Interest and/or experience in serving the senior population
