Answers for Autism is looking for volunteers to help year-round in planning the Answers for Autism Walk. The 15th Annual Answers for Autism Walk will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at CoxHall Gardens in Carmel.
Volunteers are needed in various areas:
- PR - Help Answers for Autism with publicity for the event. Help create various flyers and other materials for publishing and to share in social media.
- Silent Auction - contact local vendors via phone, e-mail and in person to request donations.
- Activity Tent - plan, organize and carry out activities and crafts for children to participate in during the Answers for Autism Walk. Activities are geared towards children of all abilites ages 2 y.o. and up.
- Large Motor Area- supervise the large motor area (bounce houses, rock climbing wall) durign the Answers for Autism Walk. Responsibilities include: supervising volunteers to ensure the safety of all participants and making sure equipment is functioning throughout the event.
- Registration - help register participants attending the walk.
- Set up/Clean Up - Help set up for the event the day before the walk - Friday, September 18 2015

Our mission is to increase and broaden public knowledge and awareness of the behaviors, social issues and emotional needs of individuals on the autism spectrum so that all individuals can participate in and contribute to our community without fear of bias or loss of individuality.
Description
Autism Advocates of Indiana dba Answers for Autism is an all volunteer organization founded in March 2000 by parents of children on the autism spectrum. Our mission is to increase and broaden public knowledge and awareness of autism so that all individuals on the autism spectrum can contribute to our community without fear of bias or loss of individuality. As of 2013, Answers for Autism has awarded over $480,000 in grants to non-profit organizations throughout the state of Indiana for programs benefiting individuals on the autism spectrum. Donations to national research programs total over $200,000.
The Answers for Autism grant program is funded through various fundraising events: Answers for Autism Bike Ride, Answers for Autism Walk and Answers for Autism Holiday Bazaar.
Please consider joining us at one of our events as a sponsor, participant or volunteer. All funds raised by Answers for Autism are distributed through grants to Indiana programs benefiting Individuals on the Autism Spectrum.
