The American Red Cross is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to give tours of the historic national headquarters building as part of the Historical Programs and Collections. Each tour lasts about 45 minutes and we only ask that you lead two tours every Friday at 10am and 2pm. This opportunity also allows for work in the collection if the the candidate is interested.
Purpose:
To support the Historical Programs and Collections, specifically the Historic Tour Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide educational and entertaining tours of the American Red Cross National Headquarters Building. If interested in collections work: research, processing collections, and possible data entry in museum database, Past Perfect.
Qualification:
 Candidates with previous experience giving public tours are prefered
Time Commitment:
Must be able to commit to tour coverage on Fridays at 10am and 2pm.

Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
