Mission Statement
Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County is a Christian ecumenical organization committed to the elimination of substandard housing throughout the county by bringing a community of resources together in partnership with families in need to build and/or rehabilitate simple, decent and affordable housing.
Description
While many find it hard to believe Hamilton County, IN has families that are living in substandard or inadequate housing. Many families live in homes with no running water, inadequate heat in the winter, leaky roofs and no insulation. Many pay more than 50% of their gross income for rent.
Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County Indiana was incorporated in May 1990. Since that time we have built and/or rehabilitated 64 homes. More important we have helped families by restoring their hope. They are now homeowners and partners in their communities.
Habitat for Humanity provides qualifying families with no interest, affordable mortgages. We provide ongoing support to these families in order to enhance their environment, increase their aspirations and self-worth, attain their goals, strengthen their families and allow them to look froward to a better future for themselves and their children.
