ORGANIZATION: Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity

We are looking for a volunteer to work 4-8 hours per week (whatever fits your schedule) to help our accounting department. Tasks will include:

  1. Assist with entering, packaging and filing payables
  2. Enter donations
  3. Enter ReStore sales data
  4. Prepare deposits
  5. Assist with monthly bank reconciliations

This position is perfect for someone that is organized, has great attention to detail, and loves working with numbers.

1. Experience in office setting preferred.

2. Experience dealing with confidential materials is preferred.

3. Demonstrated attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

4. Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively on a computer.

5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.

Description

Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity is a partnership, house building, homeownership Christian ministry in the greater Holland area. It is based on the principle that all God's people deserve a decent place to live and that our community is a better place when that occurs.

We serve families in western Michigan north to M-45, east to Hudsonville, south to the city of Allegan, and west to the shores of Lake Michigan.

  • We have been affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International since November 1990.
  • We will have served 117 families, building and restoring 117 homes by the end of 2011, bettering the lives of hundreds of children in the area.
  • It takes over 2,000 volunteer hours to build a house.
  • There are over 80 ways that volunteers may serve Lakeshore Habitat.
