Volunteers are needed to cheer on our athletes and be fans in the stands at the Games. Help is also needed to set-up and breakdown the facility, assist with judging, scoring, results, and awards.
You can sign up to volunteer at http://a6bowl2014.eventbrite.com . This pre-registration is for individual sign-up only. Groups may pre-register by sending the link to their group and having each member register. There is a place in the registration process for everyone to put what business/organization they are with.
Once inside the website, it will ask you to "purchase" your ticket to volunteer. There is NO monetary value to this purchase. Simply click and register.
The website has all the information you will need to be a successful volunteer: map, shift times, what to expect, etc. Once you "purchase" your ticket to volunteer you will be sent a confirmation email. The day prior to the event you will be sent a reminder email that you have signed up to volunteer. If for some reason we have inclement weather, we will be able to email you an update immediately giving you the information needed for that day so please make sure we have your email and cell number to keep you informed.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Description
It is our vision to become the premier provider of Special Olympics training and competition in the world. We approach each endeavor with a single intent- to improve the quality of life for our athletes. The challenges of the future are embraced with enthusiasm and commitment, ensuring that the changing face and needs of our athletes are met.
There are 1,113 athletes in the Heart of East Texas area from the following counties; Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Leon, Madison, Milam, Montgomery, Polk, Robertson, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker and Washington.
Volunteers are the lifeline of the Special Olympics program. In Texas, more than 30,793 volunteers dedicate their time to Special Olympics. These volunteers serve as coaches, officials, committee, members, competition, assistants, speech coaches, and much more. There are 112 coaches in the Heart of east Texas area.
