HALTER (Healing and Learning Through Equine Relationships) is a 501c3 that serves individuals with challenges and at-risk youth using equine-assisted activities. HALTER has served the Spartanburg community since 1987 by helping students learn riding skills which improve balance, muscle strength, coordination and help develop confidence and build social skills. Our nonprofit greatly depends on volunteers to provide safe and meaningful experiences for our students and their horse partners. HALTER offers free education in Horsemanship, Leadership, and ASL. Becoming a HALTER Volunteer creates lasting memories and truly makes a difference in the lives of our riders, their families, and the community of Spartanburg. Please contact Bethany Baxley at volunteer@haltersc.com or call/text (864) 398-2114 for more information and to become a HALTER Volunteer today! We have COVID Policies in place to keep our participants and volunteers safe.
