Compassionate volunteers are needed to provide companionship and/or caregiver relief to patients at end of life in Oakland, Wayne and Macomb counties.
Volunteers brighten the lives of patients and their families every day by visiting, reading, listen to music, sharing stories or just holding a hand.
Volunteers see patients in nursing home facilites, assisted living and/or int he patient's home.

Mission Statement
The Agency provides an individaulized program of physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical care for people in the last phases of a life-limiting illness, with an emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms.
The program is reflectieve of a spirit and idea of caring that emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying, making it possible for them to remain independent for as long as possible, and in familiar surroundings.
Description
Hospice care is centered on both the patient and family/caregiver and centered on lifestyle, values and wishes.
Hospice utilizes an interdisciplinary approach of physicains, nurses, social workers, hospice aides, VOLUNTEERS, spiritual counselors, bereavement counselors and others.
Volunteers are an integral part of the team approach to hospice care.
