The American Red Cross Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) is launchingthe Home Fire Preparedness Campaign (HFPC) in October 2014. Its goal is to reduce the rate of deaths and injuries due to home fires by 25% over 5 years. Its strategy includes participating in a community coalition that targets neighborhoods at risk for home fires, installs and smoke alarm tests, and provides fire safety and disaster preparedness education/planning.

This position exists primarily to coordinate all aspects of the program planning and implementation. The local coordintaor coordinates all activities in advance and on the day of the event. We are looking for a lead at both the chapter and regional levels.

Ideally, has some experience managing and coordinating events and working with partners. Ability to relate well and effectively with diverse groups and individuals. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Ability to understand and review program guidelines and tools.

The Mile High Chapter of the American Red Cross needs your help to provide community programs such as disaster services, transportation services and health & safety services that improve the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of area residents each year. Our mission statement says it all - "led by volunteers". Most of what we accomplish in our organization is done through volunteers. Together, we can save lives.
