Davis County Senior Services is looking for Friendly Callers to make weekly phone calls to home-bound or isolated seniors for a social connection, reassurance and to verify the senior's well-being. Your phone call can serve as a reminder to an isolated & lonely senior that they are not forgotten. Who knows... you may be forging friendships that will last for years!
Provide a much needed service without ever having to leave home. This is an ideal opportunity for one senior to reach out to other seniors in the community.
All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and pass a background check to ensure the safety of our seniors.
Davis County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is for people age 55 or more. Put your experience to work helping seniors right in your neighborhood.

Davis County RSVP empowers and enables Americans 55+ in addressing community needs and concerns through volunteering.
Description
Americans 55+ have a lifetime of experience to share and the desire to make a real difference in their world. Members of this mature generation have managed households, been business owners and nurses, farmers and salespeople, artists and executives. Now they are ready to put their unique talents and expertise to work in their communities, and enrich their own lives in the process.
RSVP is the connection to aid volunteers in choosing how and where to serve, time of service, causes to support, and how to get started. RSVP provides pre-service orientation, training from the organization where service is given, supplemental insurance while on duty, and, in some cases, a mileage reimbursement to cover the cost of travel between home and the volunteer site.
When you volunteer, you're not just helping others - you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
