North Light is seeking volunteers for our food cupboard, which serves an estimated 50 households per week. The food cupboard runs Mondays and Fridays, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at our location in Manayunk, 175 Green Lane. Volunteers are needed for: food pick-ups (must be able to drive an 10-passenger van and have a clean driving record), unloading and set up, and food distribution to patrons. If you are going to pick up the food we would need you at 9:30 AM. If you would like to unload the items we would need you around 10:30 AM. If you would like to set up the food and stay for the distribution we would need you from 12:45 PM until 2:30 PM. If you are able to help with clean up afterwards we would need you from 2:30 PM until about 3:00 PM. Some times might vary a little. Description
Founded in 1936, North Light Community Center is a place where children learn and play in a safe and nurturing environment, teens learn life and entrepreneurial skills to realize their full potential, and parents seek counsel and civic engagement. Programs include a state-licensed childcare facility with year-round school-age programs, arts and recreation, emergency supports, on-site tutoring, youth leadership training and workforce development, parenting education and access to technology.
