PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Assist in delivering the American Red Cross Disaster Preparedness outreach effort by educating community groups within the North Jersey Region and local communities to prepare for, respond to and recover from a disaster.
OPEN TIME DAYS
All DP Volunteers/Presenters/Trainers are expected to do min of 1 event every 2 months to be considered active!
Days and/or evenings and/or weekends｠｠｠
2-4 hours per presentation
2-6 hours per event/fair
REQUIRED TRAINING- Application, Background check and Orientation to American Red Cross (Done by volunteer Specialist/Manager).
- DP Orientation including: 'Be Red Cross Ready’ (BRCR) preparedness presentation and regional strategy.
- Initial Assessment on presenting skills and technique.
- If not yet ready to present, shadow another presenter until confidence is gained.
- Reassessment on presenting skills and technique may be required.
