Are you interested in working with young learners and fostering a love of books? Communities in Schools of Tacoma and READY! Set, Read- Tacoma! are looking for volunteer readers to read to and do activities with pre-school-aged children (3 to 5-year-olds) in the Tacoma School District. Our Story-times: -Typically last for about half an hour to an hour (max). -Are available at all thirty-five elementary schools in Tacoma, in addition to several local pre-schools, day-cares, and community centers, every day of the week and some weekends. -Benefit low-income families in the community by creating access to literacy opportunities. -Are a really fun and rewarding way to positively impact children’s lives!

Description
Communities In Schools is part of the 5th largest youth development organization in the country. We are the only ones proven to increase graduation rates AND decrease dropout rates.
We serve as the bridge between the student and the community, bringing in resources that help break down the barriers that students have to be successful in school.
