New Summit School's Extended Day Program is seeking volunteers who have previous experience working with children.
This is a K-12 program that meets after school from around 2:45-5:15, Monday-Friday. During this time we provide a light snack followed by homework, outside and enrichment time. We would love to have consistent volunteers, who volunteer with the program at least once a week.
Volunteer responsibilities might include overseeing activities of our K-12 students, making sure they are staying on task, helping with homework, one-on-one tutoring or helping with outdoors activities and small groups.

Description
In addition to offering the compulsory subjects required by an accredited school, New Summit School incorporates innovative educational approaches into the daily curriculum model. Our experienced educators and counselors take pride in reaching all of our students equally, while taking into account the various learning styles and skill levels that are represented. Through an initial assessment, the staff of New Summit School determines each student's instructional needs and custom-designs an educational plan suited to meet those needs.
At New Summit School, we strive to encourage our students to realize their full academic and creative abilities, develop strong values, and eventually determine how they will contribute to the community in their own individual way.
