Description
The Legacy of Service Foundation supports education, the community, health initiatives, youth development, the arts, and families and fit services.
Since it’s inception in 1993, we have awarded over $345,000 in scholarships to over 300 students within the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. We’ve watched many of our scholarship recipients flourish into greatness, including our first male scholarship recipient, Mr. Nakia Douglas, now the Principal of Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy in Dallas. We’ve supported a number of institutions and organizations including the United Negro College Fund, Paul Quinn College, Jeffries Street Learning Center, and the Educational Advancement Foundation .
We have been visible in the community over the years through countless activities and donations, including the WE Over Me Farm at Paul Quinn College, the North Texas Food Bank, and Dallas LIFE.
In regards to health, we’ve supported various causes such as diabetes, Sickle Cell Anemia, and HIV-Aids Awareness as well as organizations such as the American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen Association, and the Bridge Breast Network.
We provide annual support to the Cachet Youth Group and the Emerging Young Leaders (Zan W. Holmes Middle School, Dallas, Texas) and other youth development activities such as the Girls Leadership Summit.
