We are in need of skilled volunteers who are available to work with cancer patients in treatment centers, sharing information on community resources and about diagnoses. A thorough training is provided. Volunteers choose the treatment site of interest and determine the hours they wish to volunteer. There are sites across Columbia, Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga, Rensselaer, Warren and Washington Counties interested in Patient Navigators.

Description
The American Cancer Society is the largest source of cancer research funding outside of the federal government. The Society relies on thousands of volunteers nationwide to assist in delivering a variety of programs and services to the local community, including education and prevention programs, advocacy efforts with lawmakers and direct patient and family services. These activities are supported by the many fundraising events that take place throughout the year, many of which are coordinated by volunteers.
