Colorado State University Extension in Jefferson County is offering a 4-H Mentoring After-School Program at Parr Elementary which helps at-risk students develop life skills such as self-esteem, problem solving, cooperation and teamwork. We hope you are interested in becoming a part of this impactful program!
You will have the chance to teach and guide one to four students each week with activities and projects that focus on topics such as: sport-fishing, photography, robotics, knitting, sewing, cake decorating, teambuilding activities, healthy living, leadership, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) endeavors, and more.
Location & Time:
Parr Elementary, 5800 West 84th Avenue in Arvada, Thursdays, 3:15-4:15 p.m.
Mentors only need one hour per week during the school year to meet with a small group of youth ages 8-13. You can apply and volunteer at any time during the school year! Volunteer mentors must be at least 19 years of age and will be subject to a background check and interview.

Description
The 4-H Youth Development Program of the NIFA (National Institute for Food and Agricutulre) focuses on building lifelong learning skills that develop young people's potential. Programs are designed to engage youth in healthy learning experiences, thus increasing life skills needed to make them productive citizens.
