TrueNorth is hosting a Tent City Challenge to educate 7th-12th grade students in Newaygo County about homelessness and share experiences about homelessness within our community. Volunteers are needed to assist with groups of 10 students in leading them through activities and helping them understand the issue of homelessness. Activities include poverty simulations, service projects, and art projects.

The event runs from 6am-6pm starting Friday, November 7 and will be held at the TrueNorth Service Center in Fremont. Shorter shifts are available for volunteers. For more information on volunteering for the Tent City Challenge, contact Jena Zeerip at 231.924.0641, ext. 110 or jzeerip@truenorthservices.org.
