Tobacco Free For Me

MOTAC's goal in this newest initiative is to assist recreational organizations and communities to make parks tobacco-free environments where they can promote and model tobacco-free lifestyles. We will accomplish this by gaining public support and promoting health benefits that come with going Tobacco-Free.

Nationwide there are cities adopting tobacco-free parks, including Lincoln, NE; Los Angeles, CA; Atlanta, GA; Salt Lake Cit, UT; and many more. MOTAC believes that a tobacco-free parks policy in Omaha would:

  1. Reduce exposure to second hand smoke.
  2. Reduce toxic litter of cigarette butts in Omaha's beautiful parks.
  3. Change the cultural norm for our children, because if they do not see adults smoking they won't start themselves.
