The Changing Worlds Resource Development Volunteer position provides the individual with hands-on experience in the areas of grants and prospect research, silent auctions and special events.

If you are interested in working in the areas of fundraising, arts or education administration sectors, this opportunity will afford you valuable insight and experience in how a development team supports the overall functions of an organization.

Our team raises money from a variety of sources, secures in-kind donations, and handles marketing, social media and communication.

The Resource Development Volunteer will assist the two-person Resource Development team.

Responsibilities

• Researching organizations and new prospective funding sources and acquiring data from secondary sources to support new programs and partnerships
• Researching primary and secondary sources to support Changing Worlds’ ongoing need statement development efforts
• Assist and review proposals and reports
• Helping with organization of fundraising activities and events
• Support strategies for individual fundraising, including production of mailing
• letters
• Translation, data entry and other administrative duties as assigned
• Tracking grant deliverables and contributing to grant reports
• Leads and supports silent auction solicitations, donor acknowledgement and compilation of package for annual events
• Assist with filing and other administrative tasks
• Other tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Interested in nonprofit management and/or fundraising
• previous experience with nonprofit organizations a plus
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong writing and communications skills
• Ability to work well both alone and with a team
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Commitment to Changing Worlds’ mission

Time commitment

10-15 hours per week. Flexible on days and times, but must be during working hours of 9 - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Seeking individuals who could make a minimum of a three month commitment.
