The Volunteer Driver is responsible for driving SJW's 39 foot RV, the Mobile Success Unit, to various locations across Phoenix to provide job development services to homeless clients in those areas. Performs all set up and tear down operations for the Mobile Success Unit including driving to site, engaging stabilizers, assembling tent, tables and chairs for guests and being a welcoming presence for clients looking to engage in services.

REQUIRED:

1. Must possess current and valid driver's license

2. Must provide 39 month motor vehicle record to verify driving history

3. Must have prior experience in driving RV's, minimum 12 months

PREFERRED:

1. Highly collaborative style; positive attitude; strong work ethic grounded in honesty

2. Previous experience volunteering with programs that serve homeless individuals

3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organization skills

MAIN DUTIES:

1. Pick up mobile success unit from its designated overnight parking area and drive it to pre-designated service location
2. Engage stabilizers, assemble tent, tables and chairs
3. Load and unload any materials or setup that staff or clients may need to look for work
4. Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
5. Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
6. Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
7. Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
8. Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations
