Volunteers Needed!!!

Would you be a companion to someone at the end stage of life?

We need volunteers to do just that! Love on, support and develop relationships with patients and family.

Our mission is to enrich the quality of life of those diagnosed with a terminal illness. At Vantage Hospice we focus on both direct and indirect patient care. Our volunteers provide companionship through emotional and social support. They have an opportunity to lend a helping hand.

Direct Patient Care: A companion and friend for the patients, who are primarily elderly. As well as, providing emotional and social encouragement and help for family and caregivers.

Volunteer Activities Include But Not Limited To:

*Visiting with patients, while being a good communicator who displays strong active listening skills. Generally patients like to reminisce about pleasant memories of the past and tell about their family.

*Playing games in patient's room or in the facility.

*Reading novels, scripture, devotionals...

*Providing music or pet therapy.

*Participating in community activities with patient.

Indirect Patient Care Possibilities:

*Community outreach by leading or assisting in activities/events at long-term care facilities which our patients call home.

*Developing marketing materials for Vantage Hospice or Vantage Volunteer Program.

*Working recruitment events and fairs throughout Houston.

*Clerical and office administrative tasks at our Katy office.

*Seasonal community projects at long-term care facilities.

*Share your pet at our facilities. Pet must be obedient and healthy, with up to date vaccinations.
