Students attend classes for 3 hours. The first hour is led by the lead instructor. The last 2 hours are where we need volunteers to teach smaller groups.
Classes are Mondays and Wenesdays and volunteers are needed from approximately 9:15 AM to 12 noon
The ideal commitment we seek from volunteers is to be in a classroom once a week or a minimum of 3 times per month.
No experience is needed, just the desire to help someone learn English!
All volunteers go through a formal application process which includes a background and references check. There is also a 1-hour agency orientation and 2-hour ESL-specific training. Volunteers must also attend quarterly meetings to review updated materials and/or changes to the program.
