Wesley Housing’s Teen Program addresses the needs of at-risk teens by providing community based learning through the service of adult tutors at its Lincolnia Community Resource Center in Alexandria, VA. It supports program participants in developing positive organizational habits, consistent school attendance, and academic achievement aiming to ensure that participants will earn at least a 3.0 GPA and graduate from high school. We need patient and dedicated volunteers like you to work one-on-one or with small groups of teens in Math, Science and English.
Current Availability: Center Location: Lincolnia Community Resource Center: 5128-B Lincoln Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22312
Time Commitment: Tuesdays, 6:30-8:00pm. Volunteers are asked to commit 1 1/2 hours per week for the Spring 2015 semester.

Description
Wesley Housing is a nonprofit affordable housing developer operating 29 communities totaling over 2,300 affordable housing units, serving over 25,000 individuals. In addition to housing, Wesley Housing also provides services to its residents through Community Resource Centers which offer afterschool programs for youth, computer training, job skills training, ESL classes, nutrition classes and recreational programs for youth and adults.
