Wesley Housing’s After-School Program is designed to provide a safe and welcoming environment for elementary children at its Community Resource Centers (CRC). Heavy emphasis is directed toward academic improvement and social skills development, both identified areas of weakness for at-risk children. We need patient and creative volunteers to work one-on-one as Homework Helpers to assist children in their communities to improve math and reading skills for the 2016-2017 school year.

Community Resource Center Locations:

Lincolnia Community Resource Center: 5128-B Lincoln Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22312. Monday-Thursday, 3:30-6:30pm.

Wexford Manor CRC: 2806 Hollywood Road, Apt #001, Falls Church, VA 22043 Mon-Thurs: 4-5pm.

Whitefield Commons Community Center: 106 N. Thomas Street, Arlington, VA 22201

Minimum 1 hour per week commitment.

Wesley Housing is a nonprofit affordable housing developer operating 29 communities totaling over 2,300 affordable housing units, serving over 25,000 individuals. In addition to housing, Wesley Housing also provides services to its residents through Community Resource Centers which offer afterschool programs for youth, computer training, job skills training, ESL classes, nutrition classes and recreational programs for youth and adults.
