The Placer Adult Literacy Service (PALS) is a nonprofit volunteer organization of the Placer County Library. We need bilingual tutors for one-on-one tutoring to help adult learners increase their reading, writing, and speaking skills so they can participate with more confidence in their everyday lives. Many of our learners come to us learning English as a second language. They feel more comfortable with a tutor that can communicate in English, as well as their first language. Our tutors meet with their learner in local county libraries, and make a valuable impact in their lives. We ask that they meet a minimum of once per week, for 2 hours.
