Direct patient care volunteers visit patients in their home to provide social companionship for the patient or relief for a caregiver. Patients appreciate sharing life stories to a new audience of ears. Caregivers get to take a much needed break to relax, go to their own doctor appointments or run an errand with the comfort of knowing the patient is not alone. Other common activities volunteers may do include: reading to or helping write letters, cards or journals, watching TV or movies with the patient. Our patients will have a better quality of life when you share your talent and calm presence.
