The National Kidney Foundation will once again have a booth at the NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo. We hope to screen over 1,200 people in two days!

In its 22 nd year, the NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo has grown to become the largest free consumer health event in the country with close to 200 exhibitors, demonstrations, giveaways and much more. Over 87,000 attendees participate during the two-day event.

What is KEEP Healthy Check-up?

KEEP Healthy is a public education tool designed for large health fairs and expos because it targets the general public who may not be aware of the risk factors for kidney disease. The assessment consists of physical measurements, blood pressure, urine testing, a risk survey and a consultation with an advanced health professional.

GENERAL VOLUNTEER

We need a volunteer or group of volunteers (no medical experience required) with a positive attitude and good people skills that enjoy helping others.

Responsibilities:

Must be at least 18 years old. Willing to attend at least one training session. Assigned to a station(s) the day of screening. Some tasks include welcoming participants, help with line control, assist with questionnaires and hand out educational materials at resource center.

Get a volunteer t-shirt and an "experience letter" to document your community service.

Other reasons to volunteer:

•Impact the health of individuals in your community before they progress to kidney failure

•Get valuable experience for your resume and employee file

•Network and meet awesome people just like yourself

Time Commitment:

At least one shift on January 10-11, 2015

8:15 am - 1:00 pm (4.75 hours with 1/2 training)

12:30 pm - 5:30 pm (5 hours with 1/2 hr training)
