The National Kidney Foundation will once again have a booth at the NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo. We hope to screen over 1,200 people in two days.

In its 22nd year, the NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo has grown to become the largest free consumer health event in the country with close to 200 exhibitors, demonstrations, giveaways and much more. Over 87,000 attendees participate during the two-day event.

What is a KEEP Healthy Check up?

KEEP Health is a public education tool designed for large health fairs and expos because it targets the general public who may not be aware of the risk factors for kidney disease. The assessment consists of physical measurements, blood pressure, a risk survey, urine testing and a consultation with an advanced health professional.

MEDICAL/TECHNICAL VOLUNTEER

We need a specialized group of volunteers (such as RNs, med students, technicians, etc.) who have medical experience to handle blood pressure measurements and urine testing. Also includes medical professionals (such as MDs, DOs, NPs and PAs) that can provide consultations to participants by reviewing their risk factors.

Responsibilities

Assigned to a station(s) the day of screening. Some tasks include blood pressure measurement, urine testing and participant consultations.

Reasons to volunteer:

•Impact the health of individuals in your community before they progress to kidney failure

•Get valuable experience for your resume and employee file

•Network and meet awesome people just like yourself

•Get a volunteer t-shirt and an "experience letter" that documents your contribution
