The objective of this position is is to provide support for travelers during a vacation of a lifetime! Hammer Travel goes anywhere from Duluth for a falll colors tour, or Hawaii for the beach (for a complete list of our trip destinations visit http://hammertravel.org/current-destinations/)!! Volunteers would be supporting travelers with a variety of needs including: self-care needs; social and community needs; medical administration; financial needs; transportation; and any other duty assigned by the trip leader. You will travel (all trip related expenses paid) to exciting destinations and experience firsthand the positive affect of travel on a person’s quality of life. You will help an individual build self-esteem and confidence, improve health, enjoy several activities, feel needed and valued, and overall make a difference in someone’s life. You will gain a variety of skills and important work experience will take place.

Hammer is a non-profit organization that supports individuals with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to provide individuals with developmental disabilities the opportunity to experience life to its fullest. Through innovative programs, Hammer helps create stable, secure home environments that deeply enrich the quality of life for the individuals we support. Our offices are located in Wayzata, Minnesota and the individuals we support live in the cities of Wayzata, Minnetonka, St. Louis Park, Golden Valley, Plymouth, Crystal, Edina, Eden Prairie, New Hope, and Maple Grove. Currently, we support over 275 individuals in homes and apartments and an additional 750 through other programs.
