ORGANIZATION: Hilltop Artists
Please visit the new page to apply.
At Collaborazione, Dale Chihuly and his team will be working with Hilltop Artists students to create beautiful centerpieces that will be auctioned off at Hilltop Artists' Better Futures Luncheon. Collaborazione will be held at the Museum of Glass (MOG) in Tacoma from 10am-5pm on Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th. We are recruiting volunteers to help MOG staff manage the crowd, which involves greeting guests and leading guests to their seats if necessary. Volunteers will also act as Hilltop Artists Ambassadors, which includes:
- Saying hi to event guests
- Answering questions about Hilltop Artists (don't worry, we'll help!)
- Handing out information about Hilltop Artists
- Having fun!

We will provide a Hilltop Artists t-shirt for you to wear at the event if you don't already have one. Some food/snacks will be provided.

Mission Statement
Using glass art to connect young people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds to better futures.
Description
Established in 1994 with the help of Dale Chihuly, Hilltop Artists is a 501(c)3 non-profit glass arts program that provides classes and individualized instruction for over 500 students each year. Through the program, young people have an opportunity to learn the art of glass blowing, mosaics, fused glass and beadwork. Hilltop serves a diverse group of youth and is especially effective with young people who are searching for ways to connect and belong. There is an additional focus on assisting those who find themselves struggling academically, socially and/or behaviorally. Hilltop also does specific outreach in communities that are dealing with high risk factors related to poverty, neglect, homelessness, substance abuse, and violence. Hilltop Artists serves youth ages 12-20.
