This 3rd-6th grade special education class is looking for someone to join them during their reading groups . You would sit with a small group that is usually working independently and read stories with them or help with short written assignments that the teacher would have ready for you. Eager to learn, these students are all verbal and able to understand and follow directions. They are 8 to 12 years old and working at the Kindergarten and first grade level.
Bring: A book to share if you have one you like. If not, there are many choices in the classroom. Most volunteers serve one class period, once per week.T
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays

Description
North County Volunteer Corps is a partnership program jointly administered by the Santa Barbara County Education Office, the Santa Maria Valley YMCA, and the United Boys & Girls Clubs - Lompoc. Educators sumbit requests for volunteer support through our website, and our volunteer managers then match and coordinate community volunteers (like you!) to meet those needs. We are committed to connecting your personal skills and interests to the right activity for you.
