Food Prep & Packaging for Groups

Food Prep & Packaging volunteers work together to help get meals out the door, making it a terrific team-building activity; duties may include peeling, dicing, portioning, sorting, bagging, labeling and more!

Volunteer shifts are generally 9:00am to 12:00pm; 1:00pm to 3:00pm; or 6:00pm to 8:00pm on weekdays. We typically schedule groups from 4-20 people and can accommodate larger groups with advanced coordination. Volunteers must be age 14 or older.

Organizations are also welcome to reserve our classroom space if you plan to bring breakfast or lunch for your volunteers. Please let us know if you would like to reserve the classroom space.

Volunteers must be age 14 or older.

The mission of Food & Friends is to foster a community caring for men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses by preparing and delivering specialized meals and groceries in conjunction with nutrition counseling.

Description

Food & Friends is the ONLY organization in the region providing home-delivered meals and groceries to children and adults battling HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses. Six days a week, our clients receive meals that are nutritionally specialized to meet their individual health needs. Our services are free of charge and based solely on the health status of those in need. With the help of more than 10,000 volunteers and thousands of generous donors, more than 1.2 million meals are delivered each year.
