Are you an outgoing person who has a knack for getting people together in support of a common cause? If so, then the Walk Committee is the place for you. We are looking for four to six additional committee members to assist with the planning and execution of this event, including:
Assistance with overall event planning and logistics
Solicitation of walk prizes
Assistance with mailings
Assistance with recruitment of individual walkers and teams
Assistance with marketing and promotion
Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is an annual 5K walk that benefits more than 40 non-profit organizations in Central PA, including UCP. Highmark Blue Shield underwrites the cost of the walk so that 100 percent of the money raised by our walkers goes directly to UCP. The annual event will be held in early May at the campus of the Harrisburg Area Community College. Your expertise, energy, and ideas are eagerly sought to help us continue our efforts. Please consider joining our Walk Planning Committee.
The Committee meets monthly from October though May. Committee members may expect to devote 2 - 4 hours per month to committee responsibilities; much of the work may be done via email or over the phone. If you are interested in joining the Walk Committee, or would like further information, please contact Anna Spiess, Anna.Spiess@ucpcentralpa.org 717-737-3477 X121
