As the Assistant Dance Coach, you play a very special role in a unique organization. Equipped with the power of dance, you help build the confidence and thinking skills of our girls with the end goal of preparing them for a future in STEM. You exude positivity, courage, and individuality and have a passion of using dance to build others up. You don’t shy away from challenges, have a track record of being reliable, and maintain high expectations for what our students can achieve. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Dance Coach works with girls to build their confidence and increase their sense of possibility in life and STEM through dance. Responsibilities are as follows: Co-teach, in collaboration with the Lead Dance Coach, the dance portion of STEM From Dance by implementing the curriculum, facilitating discussions, and teaching technique and choreography Facilitate program activities by working closely with a small group of students Reinforce STEM From Dance principles, such as positivity, creativity, and perseverance, with students Cultivate strong rapport with students and contribute to a collaborative, warm sense of community Prepare girls for performance showcases Genres include Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Ballet, and Afro-Caribbean REQUIRED SKILLS: Must be skilled in and have experience with dance/choreography, especially in Hip-Hop and Lyrical Must have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Must be self-directed and entrepreneurial QUALIFICATIONS: Must have passion for and demonstrated interest in the STEM From Dance mission Must be able to commit 2 hours a week on site and 1 hours in preparation for time on site Prior experience teaching preferred Must pass background investigation HOW TO APPLY: Please follow this link to submit an application.
