Mission Statement
WeViva is an Austin non-profit that provides mobile fitness and nutritional programs to women in low-income communities throughout Austin. Regardless of whether we're teaching in apartment complexes, community centers, parks, or churches, WeViva benefits the whole community.
Description
Women are typically in charge of preparing snacks and meals for their families, and are also an influential model for health practices and self-care to their children. Women are more likely to exercise in group classes than men, but often put their needs after the financial and time demands of other family members.
WeViva is a small and young non-profit, but we’d like to extend our fitness and nutrition programs to many more neighborhoods in Austin. We are looking for volunteers who share our vision of making safe and fun fitness the norm for women.
