Description

We offer a wide assortment of training, instruction and programs to suit your individual need:

Art Trek Docent Training for the Visual Arts in the classroom:
Our Docent Program trains volunteers at monthly hands-on workshops after which they go in the classroom to deliver sequential, hands-on art lessons. Our lessons are designed not only to impart rendering, painting, and sculpting skills, but also to build student confidence and community ties. Docent volunteers will: receive training on effective teaching methods, and spend time discussing and troubleshooting questions that might or did arise while teaching. The Art Trek Docent Training program is a cost-effective and wonderful way to bring the visual arts into the classroom and to strengthen the volunteer core of a school.

Art Trek Site Instruction for the Classroom:
Our staff has established itself as the highest quality site specialists imaginable. Classroom programs tend to be once a month for approximately 75 minutes.

Art Trek for Teachers:
One of the newest programs for Art Trek is it's highly successful teachers workshop. Twice a year, K-8 teachers meet at an established site where they receive 6 hours of hands-on art lessons and philosophy. The leave the workshops with four completed projects, four extensive write-ups that include classroom extensions, literary extensions, art history/artist connections, social studies connections, appropriate vocabulary and, when applicable, science extensions.

Art Trek Studio Workshops & Classes:
Offering a friendly and non-judgmental environment for students of all ages. We believe that doing art enhances many other life skills such as problem solving, synthesizing information into original and thoughtful ideas, having the confidence to start and finish an idea, and acquiring the ability to get past obstacles that can stop us in our creative track.
