Spend your VOLUNTEER time with needle & thread! Share a little compassion and use your sewing skills to lift the spirit of a family member or friend who’s recently suffered the loss of a loved one. VITAS Innovative Hospice Care is seeking volunteers to sew Memory Bears ... a comforting companion during a time of sadness and loneliness. A favorite flannel shirt, a fluffy robe, a pair of worn-out jeans or a pressed uniform--with our easy-to-follow pattern, VITAS patients’ favorite items can be transformed into a precious memory for caregivers and other family members. Delivered with love, these bears promise a little joy and often bring a smile to the bereaved.
