Project READ is a non-profit organization which promotes literacy in the community. One way that you can help is to volunteer in our partnership with our bookstore in Antiques Village (Centerville, OH). The store consists of all donated books from the community. Some of the books are sorted and saved for Project READ to distribute to those groups with literacy needs- youth programs, church organizations, schools, and other events. All of the remaining books are sorted and shelved for the bookstore. Volunteers are needed to sort and stock books, organize store bookshelves, and help with customer service on a weekly, bi-weekly, or substitute basis for one 3-hour shift per week. Applicants should be 18 or over, people and book oriented. Light lifting, carrying, and stretching are required in volunteering at the bookstore. Potential volunteers are asked to contact Project READ for an application at 937-461-7323 or holly.elkins-lopez@sinclair.edu.
